Google Notebook (www.google.com/notebook) is a free online application that helps the user collect notes and information while surfing the net. It is like a social bookmarking site but a more sophisticated one. It allows you to “clip” text and picture just like highlighting important phrase in your book. It is an online electronic notebook for those who need to organize their thoughts while browsing.

However, I doubt that this online notebook would appeal to students, businessmen and professionals because it seems impractical for everyday use. As a matter of fact, Google is closing this service already due to the lack of regular users. But I still think that this site is cool.

Well, I guess its primary purpose is for research... I don't see any direct advantage of its use for businessmen and companies.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, Alexa has not provided any traffic ranking for this site. I just don't know if it's because it is part of Google or it has few users... but I guess it's because it's part of Google because I tried to search the traffic rankings of other services offered by Google and I haven't found their traffic rankings as well...
The review is succinct that it provides easy reading, and at the same time, does not fail to present the significant information about the site. The group should have included some cons about the site, though.
ReplyDeleteWe should be aware that it is not meant for everyday use. The site is used to bookmark sites and organize notes when someone is surfing the net or making research. It is convenient when you want to take note of something about the sites you visited or the topics you researched.
Using Google Notebook as a substitute to an ordinary notebook for everyday use is indeed impractical.

The idea of the site can be appealing to a college student, since most of the time college students use the internet to search for their papers and sometimes with all the sites a student goes through things get crazy and instead of minimizing tabs students end up closing them instead and etc.
ReplyDeleteIt is actually great to have something like Google notebook because it helps students to be organized with their researches making it easier for them to jolt down their ideas and not end up forgetting about them later on as they start with their paper.
As for the review it was easy to read and it contained useful information about the site.

I have tried using google notebook but I did not like it much. It sure helps in gathering and organizing information but I personally believe it is not as good as it seems.
